Abstract: |
In this research, the ambient vibration method is used as a field dynamic test to evaluate the repair works in bridges. Exciting the bridge, before and after carrying out the repair, using ambient vibration induced by traffic and comparing the results, indicates the changes in the dynamic properties of the bridge leading to a quantitative measure for the quality of the repair. This suggested procedure has been verified experimentally by a direct application to an existing bridge and has been proven to be successful. |
