Abstract: | This paper describes a novel method for constructing reciprocal diagrams for gridshell roofs. The procedure involves separating the original form diagram into its constituent polygons. Those are then translated, with the gaps between polygons naturally creating the reciprocal diagrams. This paper presents a method for constructing global force polyhedra with target face areas, which extends polyhedral reciprocal diagrams as a viable tool during early stages of design not just for form-finding explorations, but also for addressing more quantitative boundary condition criteria. |
