Abstract:

A new type of fabricated concrete frame with replaceable energy dissipation connectors (REDC-FCF) is presented in this paper. The replaceable energy dissipation connector (REDC) is a kind of damping member, which is installed under the concrete cover instead of the ordinary rebars in the top and bottom of the beam end. The structural type and construction method of the REDC-FCF is introduced. The seismic performance of the REDC-FCF and the ordinary reinforced concrete frame (RCF) are analyzed and compared by the time history analysis, and the seismic responses between the two structures are contrasted. The results indicate that the inter-story displacement of the structure is basically consistence with that of the ordinary reinforced concrete frame (RCF) under moderate and rarely met earthquakes. A stable hysteretic property is seen in the REDC members, which indicates that the REDC can be effectively applied in seismic resistance. The analysis results indicate that this kind of structure could be used in high seismic zones.
