Abstract:

The construction of Marshal Zhang’ Mansion experienced three periods. A three-Courtyard was building from 1914 to 1918. Big-blue building was built in the early 1920s and Small-blue building was built before the early 1920s. Six red brick buildings were built after 1929. The three groups of buildings in the three periods condense that modern architectures how to evolve in Shenyang from 1912 to 1931,including of technology, material and style. Therefore, as long as we understand the developmental characteristics of buildings’ in Marshal Zhang’ Mansion, we can grasp the evolutionary law of modern architectures in Shenyang in this period. So Marshal Zhang’ Mansion has great significance to the architectural history in Shenyang.
