Abstract:

Numerous analytical methods have been developed related to flutter instability. Since, however, the flutter problem is a kind of nonlinear eigenvalue problem, the conventional methods have some limitation. This paper proposes a method based on the least square method for evaluating the flutter derivatives in total form to solve multi mode flutter problem. The proposed method is applied for the two dimensional section model of a thin rectangular plate and a bluff H-type section.
