Abstract:

Steel-concrete composite bridge over the Roundabout of Arroyo Meaques at Madrid

A composite bridge over Arroyo Meaques, in Madrid, is described. It is a singular urban construction which leads to a specific design on which formal and aestrhetic aspects are really taken into account. A wide superior platform of 20,80 meters is supported by seven continuous spans of moderate length, 26 m at the central span, which cross section is made of two composite box girders 11 meters separated between axis of punctual supports over piles. So, important forces occur at 30 cms thicl reinforced slab, as this paper shows in detail.
