Abstract:

Bond research is again in the focus of interest owing to the appearance of new types of reinforcements (e.g. non-metallic reinforcements) and new types of concretes. New materials may bring new aspects to the anyhow complex picture of influencing factors and failure modes. Bond performance has effects both on ultimate behaviour (flexure and shear capacities) and serviceability behaviour (cracking, tension stiffening and deflections). In this paper it is intended to review bond behaviour and modelling to support future research.
