Abstract:

The Bootshaus Bridge in Sigmaringen - a monolithic semi-integral pedestrian bridge across the river Danube

The following report deals with the design and implementation of a special pedestrian and cyclist bridge across the river Danube in Sigmaringen, where not only the high demands on aesthetics but also the degree of efficiency were very important factors. The superstructure consists of precast armoured and prestressed concrete elements, which were connected to the bridge piers forming a semi-integral, monolithic three-span frame. The fairfaced concrete surface of the trough cross-section was treated with sandblasting.
