| Abstract: |
In no other country, perhaps more than in Libya, can the traces of such diverse civilizations be found. One only needs to think that, dating back to 1000 BC., the Phoeneticians, Greeks, Romans, Vandals, Byzantines, Arabs, Spanish, Turks and Italians succeeded each other on Libyan soil. This is explained by Libya's geographical position. It looks out onto the middle of the Mediterranean sea, thus it is only natural that its ownership should have been fiercely fought for among the powers that wanted to dominate this sea. Our conception work of the “Al-Khemah tower” is a symbolic monument inspired and generated by nature itself. Considering the dimensions, approximately 340 metres high (habitable), the tower looks like a bridge towards the sky; the vertical levels of development of the tower will be 69 (besides those for services), with reference to the year 1969, symbol of the revolution. |
