Abstract:

A research project was done upon hybrid connection for earthquake resistant precast frame structures. A test was performed on a hybrid connection subjected to cyclic loading with drift control, and a numerical model was calibrated. The connection behaviour is modelled considering a new proposal for the mild steel reinforcement constitutive model, which is replaceable, starting from the Menegotto-Pinto equations [1]. The paper presents aspects concerning the research in relation to the residual deformation and energy dissipation corresponding to the damage control limit state. As key parameters the intentionally debounded length of the rebars and the contribution of the mild steel reinforcement were considered.
