Abstract:

Fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) material has good characteristics such as light-weight, high- strength and high-corrosion resistance. It is necessary for development of the newer structural material such as FRP that the long-term characteristics are clarified. In this study, the mechanical characteristics of carbon FRP (CFRP) members have investigated through the long-term exposure test. First, the exposure test and loading-unloading test of CFRP truss structure are carried out. Second, the aging changes are investigated in detail. Based on these, it is confirmed that the spatial structures consisting of CFRP members effectively provide a light-weight and long-lived structure.
