Abstract:

A parametric study of the effect of a tapered profile on the fundamental and higher modes of vibration of a tall building, including the effects on predicted response to wind comprising both structural stresses and subjective-perception of accelerations. The wind-tunnel testing of such structures is discussed with examples.
