Abstrait:

The 70,500 seat Georgia Dome is a multi-purpose stadium covered by the world's largest cable-supported fabric roof, measuring 240 m x 192 m. This USD 215 million project was completed on time and on budget, despite its complexity and a fast-track schedule of design and construction of 30 months. The facility will serve as the centerpiece of the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, GA. The engineering solutions used in the development of the 'Hypar-tensegrity' cable dome with its floating saddle connections, resulting from a creative approach to the engineering design of the Georgia Dome, represent the state-of-the-art for long-span lightweight structure.
