Abstract: |
The ongoing construction of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge(HZMB) project adopts large cantilever flange steel box girder with orthotropic bridge deck structure, which has cross section of one single box with twin rooms. Aiming at the problems, such as welding fatigue of orthotropic bridge deck, vortex-induced vibration of box girder and buckling instability of thin-walled box girder, the key technical countermeasures took in HZMB project will be presented in this paper. Wherein, some special optimized constructional details of design are adopted to decrease the risk of welding fatigue of orthotropic bridge deck, and tune-massed dampers are used to control the vortex-induced vibration of continuous steel box girder. Regarding the buckling problem of instability of thin-walled box girder happened in the project, some countermeasures are proposed. |
