Smooth and durable transition structure for long bridges
Deformations occur in long concrete bridges due to seasonal temperature changes. The transition structure is built of small concrete elements, spacing out evenly the deformation. A flexible pavement structure absorbs the resulting small gaps, providing optimal driving comfort. Conventional expansion joints made of steel account for 20 % of the maintenance costs of a bridge. The transition structure is durable, there are no maintenance costs at all.
