Integral composite bridge with the advantage of expansion joint-less provided a preferred type for short or moderate span bridge. Based on an engineering example of integral composite bridge with span of 30m, finite element model considering pile-soil interaction of the whole integral composite bridge were built. Mechanical performances including deflection, stress distribution of concrete slab, stress distribution of steel main girders under different load conditions were analyzed. Besides, the joint parts which connected the steel girder and pile are the most important components for integral composite bridge. Three innovative girder-abutment joints were proposed in this paper and the performance were experimentally investigated. The test results showed NW has the best mechanical performance, and the bearing capacity of SW joint and CW joint could be improved by strengthening the connectors. |
