The structure system of Beijing Jiangtai Winter Garden mainly consists of roof gridshell and cable net curtainwall. The projected area of the roof reaches almost 6000 m². As the roof is composed of 9 main beams (arches) and many other secondary beams, it can be considered as arch-reticulated shell hybrid structure. One end of each main beam is supported by one steel column. The structure’s span is 74,6m, and the longest cable is 22,7m. main arches Jiangtai Winter Garden short struts vertical cables steel columns stay cables vertical cables Fig. 1: Jiangtai Winter Garden in Beijing Fig. 2: 3-D diagram of the structure In order to find out the stability performance of the whole structure, this paper did stablility analyses under four load cases by obtaining the corresponding stability factors. Based on such special properties for this project, this paper analyzed its elastic and elasto-plastic global stability with FEM software ANSYS. The results show that the factors of elastic global stability are greater than 4,2, and the factors of plastic global stability are greater than 2.0, which meet the specification requirements. It follows that the global stability of the structure comes to be fine. |
