This research investigated the performance and failure mode for a steel box girder bridge girder incorporating double-composite concrete slabs, both at the top and bottom flanges of the girder. The testing included evaluation of fatigue performance, service limit state performance and strength limit state performance, including failure mode. Based on these observations, design criteria recommendations are presented, confirming or supplementing the AASHTO design code. |
