The main cable of spatial cable suspension bridge has a large lateral deviation from the free cable state to finished bridge state, hangers will be bended or even enable to anchor due to its large lateral drift angle. A new method named “lateral brace between main cables” is proposed It has been successfully used in a project. The detailed comparison is undertaking to construction analysis of Jiangdong bridge between temporary hanger method and temporary lateral brace between main cables method. Analysis of the component force in the process of girder hoisting as well as its influence on the lateral deviation of main cables and the lateral drift angle of hangers. The result shows that the proposed method can satisfy the needs of hangers and lateral braces force, and has a very small lateral deviation and lateral drift angle. This method is easy and widely suitable.
