This study proposes a numeric-based assessment system for bridges less than hundred years old in order to evaluate their urgency in restoration and to sustain the architectural heritage. The proposed method considers not only the physical conditions but also historical and cultural values of bridges. The integration of structural elements and historical elements will be presented as tabulated inspection guidelines. Case studies chosen from Turkish bridges with a span of greater than 15 metres and built before 1955 will be used to show the application of this new integrated inspection guide to evaluate both their historical and physical conditions. |
