Abstrait:

Structural rehabilitation of existing bridges and viaducts often depend by a knowledges of these. It is frequently possible to execute activities aimed at reaching new safety standards on existing structures. It is important to define a numerical model to examine them and to understand the details of connections. Working in the BIM environment with a detailed 3D model and rich functionality for easily capturing modifications could considerably reduce the planning effort. Evaluating the required retrofitting tasks in detail was an extraordinary challenge for the planning team and has required the extensive use of advanced BIM techniques to ensure a fast and high-quality planning process. This job explain what is the important role of the BIM techniques. The contribution explains in detail the applied retrofitting measures and how the work with a digital twin could improve the planning process.
