This paper describes the development of a winter cover system for marble statues on the Schlossbrücke bridge in Berlin. The general concept and requirements of winter covers are discussed. Based on the boundary conditions of the Schlossbrücke bridge, two different concepts are developed and investigated taking into account the assembly and disassembly process and the structural behaviour of the winter covers themselves. |
