Seismic Monitoring System of Marmaray Submerged Tube Tunnel

Monitoring the behavior of the structures is essential to identify changes in behavior and/or response of structures. It is also important that certain critical systems are safely shutdown during a potentially destructive earthquake. The objective of this study is to present the seismic monitoring and early warning systems set in the recently commissioned Marmaray Submerged Tunnel and report on the observations made during the May 24, 2014 Northern Aegean Earthquake [Formula: see text].
