Rehabilitation of the Matsesta River Bridge, Russian Fed

A Bridge Rehabilitation Programme funded through a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development was developed by the Federal Highway Administration of Russia. Based on the recommendations of a feasibility study, the M27 motorway bridge over the Matsesta River was included in this Programme. Following the completion of the bridge rehabilitation works, restrictions on the passage of heavy vehicles were lifted. The modern materials and technologies used during bridge rehabilitation enhanced the reliability of the structure. Today, the Matsesta River Bridge is not only a reliable transport structure, but also one of the sights of the health resort of Sochi.
