Abstrait:

The Osaka World Trade Center stands on a reclaimed land in Osaka Bay. The building is 256 m tall, with 55 floors aboveground and three below. Total floor area is 150 000 m². The building is intended to serve as a landmark for a new development, Cosmo Square, with an area of 7.75 km². Cosmo Square is an urban development for an information-based society. A range of systems have been installed in the tower to ensure the comfort and safety of occupants, such as tuned mass dampers to reduce swaying in strong winds. The exterior of the building also has a distinctive design, with white mullions emphasizing the vertical lines on the glass curtain wall of the tower, while the base has a broadened triangular shape. This shape is repeated, in inverted form, at the top of the tower, where the observation gallery is situated.
