Abstrait:

The Oriental Pearl Tower, 463.85 m high above ground level, is the highest tower in Asia and the third highest in the world after the CN Tower in Toronto and the Ostankino Tower in Moscow. Designed for two million visitors a year, the tower has become a landmark in Shanghai, attracting many tourists. Its dramatic form, eleven globes supported by a "mega" space frame, reflects the designer's wish to have a strand of bright high-tech pearls to symbolize Shanghai's soaring modernisation. The Oriental Pearl Tower provides not only for television and radio broadcasting, but also has observation areas, a revolving restaurant, entertainment venues, shops and hotel.
