Abstrait:

The new Phra-Nangklao bridge is constructed over the Chao Phraya river to become a part of Highway Route no. 302 (Ratanathibet Road) in Nonthaburi Province. The purpose of the bridge is to alleviate the traffic demand in Nonthaburi and Pathumthani provinces that exceed the capacity of the old Phra-Nangklao bridge. In addition, to solve the traffic congestion, the new bridge is also to support Ratanatibet road as a main concession highway that links the Western and Eastern Ring Roads together. The upstream side of the bridge is Nonthaburi bridge located 13 km away and the downstream side is Phra-Ram 5 bridge located 5 km away. The Department of Highways (DOH) is the project owner. The main bridge and the viaducts are worth total: 1,3 billion baht ($40 million). The project began in June 2006 and was scheduled to be finished by the end of 2008.
