Abstrait:

Autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) is a very popular and porous material, which is foamed in a production process by using aluminum powder. The research program explores the influence of different particle size distributions for properties of AAC with different densities. The compressive strength, thermal conductivity, and shrinkage can be improved by changing the pore size. The research program focused on different density classes of AAC. The pore sizes were changed by using different aluminum powder, different water‐to‐solid ratio, and different starting temperature of the concrete mix. All tests were made on a technological scale and all properties were tested according to EN 771‐4:2011+A1:2015 standard. All samples were tested for dry density, compressive strength, thermal conductivity, shrinkage, and phase composition. The change in pore size can influence not only the AAC properties but also the amounts of raw materials used in the production process and CO2 consumption in its cycle life.
