The Milwaukee Art Museum Quadracci Pavilion is an architectural and engineering masterpiece conceived by Architect and Engineer Santiago Calatrava. The complex landmark building includes unusual shapes of concrete and steel, cantilevered concrete canopies that stretch the limits of the material, and a unique cable-stayed bridge. Its signature feature is a moveable roof, whose 66 m wingspan opens and closes on top of a pavilion of steel and glass all in a little over three minutes. The design of the main gallery and the Brise Soleil is presented by the structural engineer of record. |
