Carbonation is a natural process in all materials based on burnt lime and cement. Many publications treat the influence of carbonation on the properties of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC), especially on compressive strength. The influence of carbonation on compressive strength, dry density, shrinkage, and thermal conductivity on AAC in different density classes (350–600) was a subject of this research program. AAC specimens were subjected to accelerated carbonation in a climate chamber at a temperature of 20°C, 65% RH of a period of 14 days with a CO2 concentration of 0.5%. The different moisture content of specimens was used in the research program. All tests were conducted in accordance with EN 771‐4:2011+A1:2015. To determine the phase content and microstructure change the XRD analysis was used. |
