Abstrait:

Impact-echo is a method for nondestructive testing of concrete and masonry structures. It is based on the use of impact-generated stress (sound) waves that propagate through concrete and masonry and are reflected by internal flaws and external surfaces. The impact-echo method has many applications, but it also important to realize that it is not the appropriate technique for all applications in the evaluation of concrete or masonry structures, and often the method is used most effectively in conjunction with other nondestructive techniques in an evaluation of a structure.
