Abstrait:

The new Grijalva Bridge cable-stayed bridge with a 116 m long main span that crosses the river and two side spans on either side, 37 m + 25 m long. The bridge is further extended by two approaches on either side each made of four spans 3x20 m + 15,5 m long. The total bridge length amounts to 391 m. The Tabasco region is one of high seismic risk, which gives rise to considerable forces on the whole of the bridge. In this bridge, the stiffness of the towers allows the longitudinal forces produced by earthquakes to be resisted by a single pier. Therefore, the bridge was longitudinally fastened at one tower only and was left free at the other one, as well as at the intermediate and the end piers. It was transversely fixed at both towers and at the end piers.
