Abstrait:

The POLA Museum of Art houses a collection of over 9500 exhibited and stored works of art. The museum is located in a National Park in Kanagawa Prefecture, one of the major tourist destinations in Japan, in a forest which includes beech trees over 300 years old and a plethora of tall Stewartia plants. To minimize the potential damage to the plant and animal ecosystems of the area, and to ensure coexistence with the natural environment, the building height was restricted to no more than 8 meters above the ground, and the scope of the building and construction work was limited to a sphere of 76 meters in diameter.
