Abstrait: | The first multi-span suspension bridge which crosses a strait in Korea was constructed and opened to traffic in 2019. The bridge is located on the southwest coast of Korea which is famous for magnificent view of the Dadohae. It is notable for this bridge to introduce some ingenious technologies like PPWS main cable (breaking stress of 1960 MPa), in-marine anchorage with a composite foundation, and high-performance steel. Also, the graceful curve line of the cable enables this bridge to harmonize with the surrounding landscape. Together with this bridge, Korea which already had two large suspension bridges—one with a main span of 1,545m and another with 3D cable planes—became a country with the diversity of suspension bridge technology. |
