The use of cold‐formed steel sections as secondary structural elements (purlins) and primary elements of light steel framing (LSF) solutions has had a strong increase in recent years, presenting a high degree of specialization, with specific and optimized geometries for different applications, implying an increased effort for the design of steel structures. This article presents BarraSim4P – a digital platform to support structural design based on Eurocode and developed in partnership between Barraferros and Politécnico de Leiria. The platform aims to support the user in choosing sections considering specified design conditions and code actions in the structure. The platform was also validated with several tests on Barraferros sections with known results. |
