A new type constitutive equation of the rate type |

= h(T,D,e) for granular materials is introduced in the frame of Rational Mechanics. This new approach to constitutive modelling, called "barodesy", is based on the asymptotic behaviour of sand. Barodesy can be seen as a further development of hypoplasticity. Despite its striking mathematical simplicity, it captures many aspects of sand behaviour.- Informations
