Alistair Scott Day was the engineer who invented, named, applied and developed the calculation technique ‘dynamic relaxation’. He died in 2015, but always a quiet man, his story had become scattered and he was in danger of being historically overlooked. This two-part article is intended to give an account of his life and record his exceptional achievements. The authors knew Alistair, since 1981 and 1966 respectively. |
