Mengibar bridge over the Guadalquivir river in the motorway Bailén-Jaén (composite 100 m central span)The must important feature of this two cell box girder bridge with double composite action is the unique geometric solution and erection method for the concrete deck slab of the structure. This slab have a orthotropic rib system which permits a very simple semiprecast erection procedure without any type of formworks. With this achievement the total construction of the deck once finished the self-resistant steel structure was an absolute minimum |
