Abstract: |
This paper describes a structural system for covering vehicle parking areas, based on the design of a metallic structure (steel and aluminium) that enables the installation of photovoltaic modules on its roof. The resulting covering is continuous, including the driving lanes between rows of parking bays. The proposed covering has important advantages over existing systems, and the structure and the photovoltaic installation show high levels of performance. As a means of describing the system, this paper reports on four case studies. |
