Abstract:

This paper compares collecting and distribution of Guangzhou Port with that of Dalian Port. From statistical data, we know that inland waterway transport is the leading transport mode in Guangzhou Port while railway transport is the most important transport mode in Dalian Port. Next, the paper compares two modes in respective port, and focuses on similarities and differences in problems in the container collecting and distribution system. At last, we get the conclusion that no matter what characteristics and problems are in two systems, the primary cause concentrates on coordination between actors in the system.
