Abstrakt:

The Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge (BCIB) is a 32-kilometre road link with a 26-kilometre sea-crossing of Manila Bay, Philippines. The BCIB comprises of land viaducts, marine viaducts, and two cable- stayed bridges with spans of 400 metres and 900 metres to cross the navigation channels. The location of the crossing exposes the structure to extreme conditions, including deep water, high seismicity, typhoons, and ship impact. Our team was responsible for the detailed environmental, economic and engineering feasibility study and is currently undertaking the independent checking of the detailed design. This paper describes the array of studies involved in the design checking works: wind, seismic, navigation, soil-structure interaction, and structural analysis and verification, and the parametrization of the workflow to adequately respond to the evolving design. In addition, it highlights significant aspects of the check such as seismic analysis and design, fatigue of orthotropic deck, wind response, caisson design and constructability.
