Abstrakt:

The Improvement of Al Shindagha Corridor in Dubai has captured regional and international attention for its exceptional design and construction, most notably the spectacular Infinity Arch lying at the heart of both the project and the city itself. The bridge's design features twin arches curving above the road deck, creating a visually stunning figure-eight shape which gives the bridge its name, evoking the symbol for infinity (00). Parsons’ comprehensive scope of work ranged from preliminary corridor study, through preliminary design, final design, tendering and finally construction supervision. The cast-in-place post-tensioned segmental box girder bridge with the Infinity Arch over the Dubai Creek was constructed using the balanced cantilever methodology and the 21 approach bridge frames were constructed using the precast segmental bridge technology, the best of both worlds of segmental construction were implemented for this project.
