Three monoleg towers with some unusual features have been built for the Ting Kau Bridge in Hong Kong, a multispan cable-stayed bridge with 1177 m of cable-stayed deck. The Ting Kau Bridge crosses the 900-m-wide Rambler Channel, one of the main waterways to Hong Kong's container port. The bridge links the mainland to the new Chep Lap Kok Airport on Lantau Island. The towers for the Ting Kau Bridge are different because of their slender monolegs or masts are stabilised transversely by transverse guy or stay cables. |
