Due to the location parameters for high-speed railway lines and the topographic conditions, the share of bridge structures in the new construction sections of the German Federal Railways (DB) is very high. A decision was therefore made at an earlier stage before starting construction works, already for the working out of a general design concept for the numerous engineering structures to be established. General Design has stood the test in practice with the new construction sections of the German Federal Railways. New findings, gained in practice, were either transformed right away or integrated into the standard drawings for future structures. |
