Today, on the 33rd anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, we premiere a new video chronicling the history of the New Safe Confinement, the miracle of modern engineering which encases the nuclear power plant's damaged reactor. The video features dramatic new footage from inside the reactor's turbine hall and the operation to slide the New Safe Confinement into place. The structure successfully completed its final commissioning test yesterday.
