Corps installs first massive gate at Folsom Dam auxiliary spillway (Timelapse)

Workers are nearly done installing the first massive Tainter gate for the Folsom Dam auxiliary spillway, putting in one of its two radial arms July 3. The 179-ton steel gate is one of six Tainter gates that will control water flow from Folsom Lake into the new auxiliary spillway.
