Abstrakt: | The subject of the paper is the structure of a steel footbridge damaged as a result of a vehicle collision with a span and, consequently, characterized with a high sensitivity to vibration, which results in a lack of comfort to the users of the footbridge. The structure is located over one of the national roads in Poland. The static scheme of the footbridge is a single-aisle frame with hinges in the foundations. The flights of stairs are greatly expanded, stiffly connected to the transom. The whole steel structure consists of double T-bar cross sections. The deck has a form of a concrete slab connected to the transom of the frame. The structure was built in the 1970s. It has recently been damaged by an oversize vehicle. In consequence, the transom of the frame has been deformed and some of the joints have been broken, which necessitated repairs. Moreover, the whole structure has turned out to be unstable and very sensitive to vibration, decreasing the level of comfort to its users. A comprehensive static and durability analysis is presented in the paper, showing possibilities of repairing the damage and improving the dynamic parameters of the footbridge. |
