Abstrakt:

ISO 55000 states that “Asset management translates the organization’s objectives into asset-related decisions, plans and activities, using a risk based approach”.

Decoding such high level statement into a specific organizational culture is an effort which many intense asset management companies are carrying out, however, the maturity level of this approach, is far from being uniform across organizations. While some exhibit signs of excellence pushing boundaries and develop new ideas and concepts, others are starting to learn, applying and embedding the concepts.

The paper will present and discuss the process of producing the company’s asset management maintenance plan, including scenario analysis to support decision-making process. It will also address infrastructure risk assessment, namely the operational risks concerning bridges, tunnels, pavements, track, signalling and power stations, in the context of both road and railway transportation networks.
