This paper investigated the flexural performance of the UHPC deck based on Fifth Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge which is the first long-span cable-stayed bridge in China utilizing reinforced UHPC with basalt. Two types of the specimens were used to reveal the longitudinal and transversal flexural performance of the UHPC deck, respectively. The load (stress)-deflection curves and load (stress)- crack width curves of the specimens were obtained from the experimental and theoretical studies. The results showed that the UHPC deck in the elastic stage exhibited adequate bending stiffness and cracking strength. In addition, the formulas in the recommendation of AFGC were used to calculate the maximum cracks width of the UHPC deck. It showed that the formulas were not applicable to UHPC structures with coarse aggregates. Thus, there is a necessity to revise the formulas for UHPC structures with coarse aggregates. |
