The case study will tell the story of the design and construction of a low cost small building. The building is built mostly of natural materials using conventional techniques. It has a very low energy use and may be easily deconstructed, reused, recycled or disposed of without causing environmental harm. It is composed mainly of locally sustainably sourced timber, and other biogenic materials and avoids the use of plastic where possible. As well as being energy efficient it has very low embodied energy. Lessons learnt during construction will be shared. |
